Intelligent CCTV for Airport Surveillance & Security
Intelligent CCTV surveillance and video management systems mean heightened airport security through more effective airport surveillance
Viseum provide the most effective CCTV systems for airport surveillance and security covering both perimeter and all movement within wide areas of any given perimeter. This optimised surveillance comes from using the Viseum Intelligent Moving Camera (Viseum IMC) which contains multiple cameras built inside a single unit and so can provide complete panoramic coverage in any direction up to 360°. Each Viseum IMC camera deployed on a site is fitted with the requisite number of fixed surveillance cameras to cover the designated zone areas.
Viseum iVOS – Intelligent Virtual Operator Software:
For better use of airport surveillance personnel and to reduce the need to train security staff for routine monitoring tasks, the software monitors each and every camera installed on the network simultaneously. Upon activation, with the software already analysing an incident, it automatically controls the PTZ camera to follow, confirm, record and report incidents. The software performs key but mundane tasks, such as:
- What activity to monitor.
- When to monitor for particular incidents.
- Where to monitor for particular incidents.
- What responses should follow particular incidents.
Example airport surveillance installation covering access to 3 airport terminal buildings and 50 aircraft gates
Airport surveillance emergency threat management:
If potential intruders breech the airport perimeter fence line or, if required, even approach the airport perimeter fence line within up to 130 metres, the PTZ camera automatically zooms into and follows them with close-up video images automatically recorded and displayed onto surveillance monitors for a security response. Once the airport’s perimeter intrusion detection system (PIDS) is activated, Viseum iVOS F3 software systems (early prototypes known as “tag and track”) will automatically track the intruders wherever they circulate inside the perimeter. The Viseum software will also track the intruders through the airport terminal buildings using existing internal camera, identify them when they pass from the field of one camera to another and re-identify them when they move out of view of the cameras.
If there is more than one intruder within coverage of a single Viseum outdoor surveillancecamera installation, the Viseum software will track all of them and control the PTZ camera to automatically zoom into, follow and switch between all intruders to a) confirm their sightings, and b) record close-up video images of them. Throughout the entire incident, the intruder’s locations and close-up video images are automatically reported for a security response. If they reach certain areas, or if airport CCTV security personnel have not responded correctly, the Viseum system will automatically notify the head of airport surveillance to initiate further escalation procedures.
Once the incident is over, evidence is used for rapid investigations. Images of the intruder(s) are fed into Viseum software systems to automatically track their movements from the lead-up to the breach through to the end of it, including attempts to evade capture within crowds of people. Viseum’s face recognition softwareis then used to automatically investigate if the intruders had previously visited the site.
